It's the first week in May for Pete's sake. Today it was 101 degrees. Yes, you read that right. Hotter than hell. With unbelievable humidity to boot. So you sweat, then you sweat some more. And it goes.........nowhere. This is not normal for this time of year, at all. We shouldn't be seeing these kinds of temps for at least another six weeks. This does NOT bode well for the summer, if the current weather is any indication, we are in for a real scorcher.
Those that got rained on at the I.I. last weekend should be thankful, you could have had this high heat crap going on, and I can bet you the northern dogs dealt fine with the water, but I will also bet you that the heat would have brought them to their knees. And even the southern dogs would have had trouble, since we went from 65 to over 100 in a matter of a couple of days. Even my hardened outside dogs have turned into hair pancakes, just laying in the shade, taking a dip in the pool on occasion. 100 degrees and single digit humidity isn't nearly as bad as 100 degrees and 90 percent humidity. I was wilting at work today, and it's still hot, even at midnight. Ugh.
Subcontracting.
